Twinkle has arrived!

Twinkle3

Thanksgiving is over, and that means it’s finally time to get ready for Christmas! I’m very excited this year, we have a 2 year old and a 5 year old (and one on the way) so I get to have lots of fun with this one! We have an Elf (which I’m sure you’re familiar with), and we have a lot of fun with him. His name is Twinkle, and he made his debut this year on Thanksgiving night. He got us started on our Xmas countdown this year, and today he’s keeping a vigil eye over Thing 1 and Thing 2, and it’s so much fun to watch JoJo (the 5 year old) get so excited…and behave so well!

Over the last week, JoJo’s reminded me of Twinkle’s most memorable antics from last year…and I was delighted to see that she remembered so well! “Remember when he…he…he…was drinking the syrup out of the bottle????” She’s telling me in her shrill little over excited voice.“Remember when he…he…he…spilled the cereal all over???” I can’t wait to see what Twinkle decides to pull this year…

Twinkle2This year is just going to be so much fun! In just a few weeks we get to find out the sex of our third, and I’m really, really, really excited about that! I’m on the edge of my seat to find out, which is funny really because I wasn’t surprised about the sex of either of my other children! (Haha!) I was convinced I was having a girl first, and a boy second and that’s what I got. This one really has me thrown so that will be a special little way for us to celebrate this season!

So, do you have an elf in your house? Are you making Christmas cookies this year? What’s your favorite recipe? What kinds of things will you be up to this season to bring a little magic into your home? I can’t wait to share all of the fun we’ll be having at ours!

Life is FULL of suprises!

So I started this blog a couple of months back with the intention of writing about being a Work at Home Mom. However, life is full of twists and turns and due to many circumstances out of my own control, I am no longer working. I won’t bore you with the details, but this has been quite a change for me and I’m still getting used to it. I guess that means I’ll be talking less about working, and more about Mom-ing! (Which trust me, is STILL work!)

I’ve been struggling with this for weeks, “Do I scrap my blog…it’s brand new anyway!” “What am I going to do when it comes time that I NEED to go back to work?” “What if I don’t want to go back to work??” “Can I find something to do on my own? Be my own Boss?” For now, I’ve decided I will keep going…I will write about what we do together as a family, funny stories about my kids, cool projects we’re working on, and how I’m trying to figure it all out again. I’m sure this will turn out to be one of MANY surprises that life will have for me…and really I should be NO stranger to that! I have plenty to keep me busy, what with going back to school full time, exploring things like photography and my creative side, growing my THIRD child, raising the other two that are still under school age, taking on the full responsibility of the household and EVERYTHING that goes with owning a home…(Because my hubby no longer has time to do it. He’s working almost 60 hours a week to help compensate for my change in income). So here’s my story, my journey, of how I will use this time in my life to recreate myself. My goals are to cherish this time I will get to have with my kids, simplify my life, and to find a “job” that will truly inspire my creativity and make me happy!
